Terrible…..I just needed AIR. I had already set the wheel on the rim and sealant applied. All I needed was air. I asked for air. She took my wheel to the back…Comes back, “that would be $5”. No bike shop has ever charged me for air…I don’t think any decent bike shop would charge for air. Best of all, after I’m charged for the $5 and I questioned her… she says “You should have asked for the hose, and inflate it your self” Which btw I intended to use the FREE air hose, but there was no hose Haha
I brought my scooter in for brake repairs (Ticket #4635). Just over one month after the service, the brakes completely failed. This is not normal wear and tear—especially considering the scooter is now in worse condition than before the repair. I contacted the shop expecting them to honor their own policy of standing behind the quality of their work. So far I have only used Urban Cyclery for some replacement parts but appreciated their convenient, friendly, and well-stocked local store. We have a bike that needs an overhaul this winter and from the counter service received so far I will be taking it to them for that more involved work. Update Feb 2026 I used for an off-season tune up on a non-electric bike this winter and again was very pleased with the promptness and quality of their service. Avoid this place, head up to Maplewood Bike Shed instead. These guys know bikes!! 1673 Springfield Ave They also treat you with respect.
Quick turnaround time for repair of my e-bike. While I was in the store, I asked questions about different models and they were honest and steered me in the right direction. Appreciate the team at Urban Cyclery and would stop by again for any repairs or upgrades.
