If you're a prospective graduate student considering UNCG, especially for a master’s or PhD program — think twice. The lack of support for graduate students is staggering across departments. There's minimal academic or emotional support, unclear policies, and no real structure in place to resolve conflicts between students and advisors or departments. UNCG has potential, but unfortunately, my experience here has been frustrating. Administrative processes are slow and often disorganized. Getting clear answers from financial aid, housing, or advising can be a nightmare — lots of back-and-forth, unanswered emails, and unclear policies. Some faculty are great, but support for students outside the classroom is lacking. Campus resources feel outdated, and parking is a consistent problem.
