Complete sleaze. The company was paid for my services almost a year ago, and they will not respond to my demands for payment. The CEO is Naveen Doki, MD of Hematology Oncology of Northern Virginia. I suggest contacting him however you can, and getting some answers.
We paid TASA the expert fee and they never paid the expert. The company was purchased by the Futuris Company, and they shut TASA down, and advised them not to make any payments owed to experts.
If I could give zero stars, I would. What is going on with this company? It almost seems that they have gone out of business. The law firm I work for retained an expert through TASA. We paid a very large invoice for the experts services to TASA and they have not compensated our expert for his hard work. This is completely unethical and NOT ok. I see a lot of lawsuits coming to this company and their parent company, Futuris.
Something went wrong with TASA the past year. The attorney clients paid TASA promptly but then it took TASA over 8 months to distribute the funds to the expert. After several months of repeated followups via phone and email, many times getting the runaround, before TASA negotiated to pay half the balance. They then paid the final balance after some more follow up. Despite the untimely payments, fortunately I was eventually paid. Unfortunately though, many of my colleagues have still not been paid for their hard work.
Warning! Be prepared to have to fight to get paid if you are an Expert Witness. I agreed to work with them on a project taking several months and sixty hours. They begged me to take on the work which was a "rush job". They will not pay you until they have been paid by the attorneys, etc. I also made the mistake of paying for my own expenses because their attorneys kept changing my court appearance and it was not convenient for them to make the travel arrangements as they were in court.
