Hi all , Pete here , we took two of our great grandchildren to the Strand, they both had the time of their lives, loads to do. Lovely and clean , no rubbish anywhere. The fair ground was a blast. We will be returning in the near future. Then we will go into the larger play pool area. The parking was very good as people were in and out all day. My disability parking was fantastic. The lido itself is fun, but the floors are very slippery - my friend slipped and fell just from walking. Some extra grip would definitely help. The changing rooms and toilets weren’t great either, with dirty nappies left on the changing mats due to no bins and some doors were missing locks.

For decades I’ve visited the Strand. In all seasons and in all types of weather. I’ve met many interesting people here over the years. A lovely man called Derick comes to the Strand as often as he can, even Christmas Day; as he met his late wife here, many years ago. He feels like the Strand is part of his family. Sadly I think it’s Terrible, you have to pay to park here; to take your kids to play in a park, or swim. Going to a leisure park, Should be free, so families can go there more often to use the Park or Swimming Pool... read more
