This is a lawyer I would shun. 1) After my wife's demise, prepaid him for setting up a trust ($5,000). Later decided not to go through with the trust and turned it into a client account - and he promised to work for me for $125/hr 2) It took him 6 months to procure a 'Grant of Probate'(GoP), he promised me 2 months at most since he could do it faster than me. 3) He wanted more documentation from me after I had already received the GoP, then relented saying it was not neccessary. 4) Then 5 emails and 3 phone-calls to his offi... read more

I have had an awful experience with the Stegall law firm. This year, I lost both of my parents within weeks of each other. I had to file probate for my mom. I needed help and expertise in order to figure out complex issues with their estate. Instead of help, there were delays. Then I was ghosted. Stegall has not returned my calls or emails for months. My mom has had a horrible experience with Stegall. She lost both parents within a short amount of time, and they had complicated financial and legal situations upon their death. Instead of helping my mother navigate these complex issues with tact and responsiveness, he has been a ghost in the wind for months and has made it impossible for my mother to move forward with handling my grandparent’s assets. I have been waiting almost a year now to get my estate planning completed. I called and emailed them and they dropped off with the communication. They just took my money and ghosted me. He was a really likable guy, but being ghosted is just unprofessional and bad for business.
