BEYOND AWFUL... I had a Brazilian wax with a woman named Tonya a few weeks ago and it was extremely painful. She used all hard wax to remove the hair (when she could have used soft wax in some places), went over sensitive places multiple times (after she said that shouldn't be done), and even ripped off some of my skin. I asked if she had done this before because it seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. I recently went to Merle Norman for a manicure. Overall, the experience was not very good. I also was very displeased with the result. First off, I was told upon arrival that they would be charging me $10 to removed my current shellac due to the fact that my previous manicure had not been performed by a staff member at their spa. After voicing my concern that I should have been told via phone to arrive with natural nails upon making my appointment, they decided to waive the removal fee. I received an email for a special 50% off gel manicure. I had not ever received a gel manicure before and had been told that they last much longer than a regular manicure. So I scheduled an appointment, All the staff at Merle Norman were very nice, but the manicure was not good at all. Like I said, I have not had a gel manicure before but I have had a regular manicure from other places and they usually soak your hands, cut cuticles, buff, file, shape, polish the nail, and usually massage your hands a little with lotion.
