If you want to buy a shell lamp or any other item made from mollusks to remember your Florida travels, The Shell Factory is the place to go. There are over five-million shell-type articles from toothbrushes to mirrors, but that's a small detail in the larger complex. In addition to the shell shop, visitors can see the 'nature park', which includes both live animals as well as a taxidermy room and a mini-military museum. Guests can even feed alligators in the pen as well as see exotic birds in the aviary.

So sad the place fell into disrepair and had to close after 80 plus years. Hope all the animals find new forever homes.
So sad to see this iconic fixture close ..hopeful that all the animals will be rehomed safely... and carefully chosen for their continued loving care and protection.
The 70s was my first experience and always was part of my life
Decided to visit before this place before it closed for good. It was nice and will be missed.
