We placed my father in memory care at The Retreat. It's a very new and beautiful establishment. They really went above and beyond for my father, who could be a very irate resident at times due to dementia. They took such good care of him, better than I could ever. The staff really cared about him and also built a relationship with us family members visiting him. They attended to him all hours of the day and encouraged him to socialize. Our parents moved into the Retreat at Alameda in May 2025 and they have received excellent care since moving in. We are most impressed with the medical staff who have exceeded our expectations. Not only do they provide exceptional care, but they are compassionate and communicate with us whenever it is needed. I don't ever write reviews but it's important for people to know what goes on in this facility. Let me start by saying that the owners care about money over resident care. As a compassionate person it was hard to see how residents in memory care were often neglected and basic hygiene overlooked on a daily basis. They are stripped of their dignity and treated like numbers on an assembly line. Often understaffed, but even fully staffed neglected of basic day to day needs.
