I'm unsure if this is a doctors surgery or a joke shop , terrible receptionists very abrupt and unhelpful, it takes around seven years to train a Doctor yet the woman on the phone seem to know it all in five minutes. There are never any appointments yet always looks empty , also they don't take prescription over the phone or email and revert back to the 80s and want pen and paper which bewildered me as it all has to be data entered onto their system or perhaps it's a commodore 64 they use who knows . The problem is not with reception. I cannot fault the girls who work on the desk. The problem is the GPs who diagnose everything as VIRAL. My 4 year old daughter was taken in with really sore eyes - red with a white lump. Was told to wash with BABY SHAMPOO and it was viral. I asked for drops and was told no. 2 days later the eyes get worse. More spots. I go to a chemist in Darnley. He sends me straight up to the children’s hospital A&E. This surgery is poorly managed , under staffed with one doctor working only at times which is ridiculous considering the thousands of patients they have , they take a fee for us being registered at the practice but cannot see you for weeks at a time yet don't help in the meantime while you suffer it's infuriating. Never any appointments but still I go to other part of the centre and see that the waiting room is empty , occasionally a few people waiting but only in the morning. Can’t get an appointment, no matter what time you call, the doctors have 2 hour lunches and there is never any working!
Incredible service. My partner had a bad accident and broke her leg, we had to come and stay with family in the area after her surgery as we live on a 4th floor flat in Edinburgh and she couldn't do the stairs. Needed to arrange an appointment 10-14 days after her surgery to get staples removed and would have been difficult/painful getting her in the car to go back to Edinburgh.
