The quality of the food they are serving has gone way down hill. For the money we are paying it is a joke. They raise rent and lower the quality of the service. This is what they are serving to the residents. Horrible!!
I am at the beginning phase of moving my brother to assisted living. I visited 10 locations and the Oaks of Algonquin far exceeded my expectations. The building is beautiful, the amenities are amazing, the staff and residents that I met were so nice. The residents that I saw out and about told me how much they liked the place. I'm disgusted how much keeps happening at this building. My aunt has lived here for over a year and we've seen so many staff come and go. Everytime I speak with my aunt, she tells me how upset she is about something. Prices continue to go up and the services and quality continues to go down. Just this week she told me they fired three of the managers who she says were the most compassionate and genuine people. The decision to move my mom into a memory care facility was unexpected and difficult. The Oaks was impressive the minute we walked in from the comforts of home to the cleanliness to the wonderful staff we met along the way. In particular, the memory care manager, Jen, has been instrumental in the decision to move mom in. She is knowledgeable, empathetic, and has helped us every step of the way. It’s a difficult situation, but knowing my mom is in good hands puts our mind at ease.
My Mom has lived here for several years now, first in independent living and now in memory care. You hear horror stories about senior living facilities, but I have to say, this place is just exceptional. I firmly believe that the staff is helping make my mother's waning years as enjoyable as we could ever expect. The entire team there has been outstanding. I simply cannot recommend them enough.
