My gran has been in The Lodge since August and I can honestly say that this has been such a positive move not only for her but also for us as a family. Over the past year she had lost her "sparkle" but since moving into The Lodge she now has a new lease of life, she loves been around the other residents, the meals are lovely and the activity program is amazing in fact she enjoys it so much we have become an inconvenience to her when we visit as it takes her away from the time she spends with everyone else! The Lodge is a lovely residential home where my mum spent her last few months. The home is very clean, the residents always have drinks and food and activities to stimulate them and keep them entertained. The carers are super friendly and are very attentive to all the residents needs. My mum is currently living here and she has excellent care ,staff are friendly and do a great job...She is always showered and clean clothes on she has her hair/nails done regularly..There is a activities lady there throughout the day they bake and do all sorts of arty things .She loves it here and we're happy she's happy..
My mum went into The Lodge, after a few disastrous care homes before. The Lodge has recently changed management, and wow, what a difference. Lovely, caring atmosphere, the staff are loyal, and nothing, trust me, nothing is ever too much trouble. You can go and enjoy your time with your loved one is something money can never buy. 100% dedication from a lovely team that work so hard. Honestly cannot praise The Lodge and the team enough.
My dad never had his own clothes on - the staff initially seemed caring, but the residents sat in the living/dining area from morning until bed time - absolutely no stimulation or engagement given... on rare occasions that there was an activity we were invited to attend. I had to fight to get my dad an ambulance as he was incredibly unwell sat in a t shirt only in November, he had an open wound on his foot which was infected and he had no socks or slippers on just a bare foot on the filthy floor.
