We feel very lucky to have found The Landings for our Mom! The staff at The Landings is friendly, responsive, living, kind and caring. Her caregivers take great care of her! Mom loves them! She has adjusted well since moving in a month and a half ago. She is laughing and joking again! The Landings has given her the ability to make her own schedule, to do what she wants to do, to speak up for herself, and given her people to talk to that are her age. If I could give a 4.5 score, I would.
I had a meeting with the ED Mr Justin he was incredibly helpful and able to answer any question that was asked, I can not recommend the Landings of Oak Island enough if you need a safe, comfortable, and loving home for your loved one!
Wonderful place, residents are super fantastic. I so enjoyed working on Memory Care so many wonderful people. After 3 years of working here I was fired due to not taking breaks. Dismissed on one day and a former employee was brought back in on the next day. Kinda suspicious. North Carolina, the Wage and Hour Act does not mandate meal or rest breaks for employees aged 16 and older. However, youths under 16 must receive a 30-minute break after working five hours. I would not even give this place one star! It has been a blessing that they would not accept my sister as she wound up at Terra Bella in Southport and then was transferred to a sister facility in NJ where she can be closer to her son. The Landings management (Justin and Wendy, in particular) told us that we needed to have the FL2 form written a certain way (I would never have even known that the diagnoses order needed to be a certain way) and then accused us of committing fraud when we had our doctor’s office make the change... read more
