When my wife moved in to the Derwent unit in December I was told visiting was at any time no matter what as it was a dementia unit, and that is what I have been doing up to now, now I'm being told that at meal times no visitors or family are allowed to be in the lounge and dining area where they are having their meals I have to rather go to a room and wait while they have had their meal or leave, I'm sorry but I find this unacceptable and will be taken this matter further
I am a Dementia specialist trained complimentary therapist and visited today to spend time with the residents and provide lovely pampmering sessions. I visit many residential homes and this home is a real home and is outstanding beautiful in every way. I wouldfeel really happy letting a family member reside here without any doubt. I had been looking for a home for my mother for quite a while now and upon visiting The Lakes Care Centre, I immediately felt at ease with the friendliness of staff and cleanliness off the home. No question went unanswered. After not visiting The Lakes for a few years it’s brilliant to see the new and welcome changes the new owners have made. Such a lovely place for both staff and residents.
