If you're looking for a facility where wound care instructions are ignored and blood-stained socks are the epitome of perfect hygiene, then congratulations, The Grand is for you! But me? I wouldn't trust them to care for a houseplant. My grandfather was admitted to The Grand following a foot surgery he received from Albany Med. We were extremely pleased with the care and communication of the staff at The Grand! Our uncle was hospitalized from a fall. We live out of state. The Grand Admission Director Ali, provided over the top communication and coordinated his move from the hospital for Rehab. Abby, the social worker, remained in constant contact with us as needed to insure our uncles assessment and needs were being met. Simply ask any person in the medical field about the Grand and you will get the same response; resoundingly awful. I filed a complaint with the NYS Dept of Health after my parent spent a disastrous month with this Grand Farce of a care facility. Several infections and falls later; they were readmitted to the hospital. After discharge from the hospital, we moved them to Baptist Health whose exemplary care shown an even brighter light on the Grand Hell that is The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland. My father was sent to the grand nursing home on June 25th 2024 for rehab he fell out of bed on June 29th with no phone call and was told when we got there that he stood up and put himself on the floor mind you he was there for rehab from a stroke that left him paralyzed on the left side and was very weak. All personnel were very helpful. Facility was clean and orderly. Staff seemed very knowledgeable about the residents staying there.
