I attended an all-day wellbeing and healing session in Brisbane where Gareth gave a one-hour drumming workshop to all of us, a small group of complete newbies to African drumming. And Gareth was hands down amazing, one of the best workshops that I've ever done. He was patient and entertaining. I had a fantastic time at Gareth Cohen's jumbo drumming class! Gareth's passion for music was contagious, and his patient, enthusiastic teaching style made it easy for everyone in the group to pick up the rhythms and join in. The large drums were a unique and exciting aspect of the lesson, and the beautiful indoor setting added to the atmosphere. One lesson of African drumming & rhythm with Gareth - I'm hooked! The Gareth Cohen Experience is just that, a GREAT experience, not just a lesson. His style of teaching is unique. Inclusive, Fun, Joyful, yet precise. I learnt a lot and I had an awesome time doing it. I also loved Gareth's inclusion of meditative practices throughout the lesson. Had my first lesson with Gareth last night and he is an incredible teacher. Very patience and loads of fun. Doesn't matter what level you are at he makes you feel very welcome. Excellent drummer and incredible connection to his passion. Highly recommended. Wish I had have taken some pics, but was having way too much fun.
