Highly worth visiting for vibes and information, even if you've got ski and climbing gear exploding out the tailgate. The owners of this store, Dani and Jeff, are incredibly generous with trail advice, conditions beta, gear knowledge, and also town lore. Wide selection of high-end demo skis at affordable prices ($50 for 1 day, $80 for 2). They have to put in place a policy to allow for taking advantage of the nocturnal skiing at Mt. Shasta without having to pay for one extra day for the rental equipment. Mt. Shasta resort offers skiing on Friday night until 7 pm; the rental shop closes at 6 pm. Last year it was suggested to us (by the people at the shop) that, if we brought the skis back by Saturday opening hours (8 am), we will not be charged another rental day. I have been an adventure guide and educator for 14 years. I've worked in the retail/service industry. I am a small business owner... This is the best store I've ever been in. Their selection, great deals when possible, and customer service is top tier. I'll go out of my way to support them in the future.
Always excellent service and a wonderfully curated selection of outdoor gear and clothing. I've been able to find top quality items here that I haven't been able to find in larger cities or chain shops like REI. We are so lucky to have this shop in our community!
