Over the past 23 years, my family has visited ketchum regularly and we will often visit Elephant Perch for ski and bike equipment, quality clothes, or just to talk about snow conditions. During my last visit, my daughter suggested i write a review because i spoke so highly of the staff. I never write reviews so this is my first. The young man who helped me find a topo map for some back-country skiing was so helpful, kind, and just a joy to talk with that i went back for a second map a couple days later. Rented a couple gravel bikes, they were high quality carbon frames and full grx groupsets. Could tell they were super well maintained, everything was tuned perfectly. Had a great ride.

Unbelievable. Broke a spoke up Norton Creek loop during a dirt bag bike trip. Brought the wheel in, they fixed the broken spoke, replaced another that was bent, had it done so fast. Even held my hand and walked me down to Lefty's so I could drink a beer while I waited. Great crew of people!

Rented a performance MTB and got a pin hole at the top of a trail. This was exactly the type of hole that sealant is meant to seal, but the bike was not properly serviced with sealant. Luckily someone we passed had a co2 cartridge and a pump. However, we lost about 45 minutes of our 4 hour rental and the sales guy was pretty dismissive. Nice quality bike otherwise and the young guys who fitted us for the bike had good trail recs.

Took my new Santa Cruz Tallboy out for its maiden ride and quickly realized the shifting was way way off. A business associate bought me the bike online, so I brought it to The Elephant’s Perch for help. Brian walked me through the whole diagnosis process—turns out it was a faulty derailleur. They helped me get a replacement and installed it, and now it shifts flawlessly. The crew at the shop was awesome—helpful, communicative, and clearly know their stuff. Highly recommend taking your bike to these guys. Thank you, Brian an... read more
