Our son Andrew attended DSV for 15 months, going from outrageous an refusing to attend school to an 87% average and a walk-on varsity high school hockey player at an elite private school. Universiry Arts program, then 2 yrs Law School. At age 30, he is operating 3 owned businesses and generating $2Mill in annual profits. He will always have challenges, but doing fine. As a former student who successfully left the DSVA years ago, immensely proud and with a smile on my face, I have had some time to reflect on and assess my time there. I urge you to not be fooled by the positive reviews that others have left - please DO NOT send your child to this institution. It is a physically taxing and emotionally manipulative horror show that fronts as a legitimate 'therapeutic wilderness boarding school'. I was at DSV for a year and it completely changed my life. Prior to DSV, society had really messed me up, I was severely depressed and a miserable person to be around. Through DSV, I built strong relationships (with my peers and the staff) that I’m sure will last a lifetime. If you are running out of options and are considering sending your child to DSV, I would.
