About

How about attending a comedy show where the act-letes perform on the spot, based on suggestions from the audience? Such kind of interactive and improvisational comedy is the flavor of the theater group called the ComedySportz. The performers present clean comedy that is anything but boring. When you watch people enact a certain situation at the spur of the moment, the comic timing increases many folds, this is where intelligent comedy ropes in. ComedySportz offers a quality laughter-session every time, with every group that it performs for—national events, college shows and corporate events.

Im a freshman in college and therefore poor. Comedysportz is a great way for my friends and I to go out on the weekend and have a good time. Plus it never fails to give us funny lines to quote after we leave. Good show!

great improv Good improv isn't easy, but the Comedy Sportz casts pull it off. This place is as good as Second City as far as consistently good comedy. Lots of audience participation, as is expected with improv, so it's a very energized show. Very talented performers, a lot of fun to watch. Anyone who loves comedy will fit in - there are special nights for kids, an open mic night, and BYOB so no silly drink minimums. Very worth the cost of admission, one of the best Chicago's comedy scene has to offer. PROS: top notch performers CONS:

As good as Second City and a lot cheaper This is one of the most unrecognized comedy improv theatres in Chicago. For a mere $17 bucks, you get to see two teams compete for points that are worth nothing by improvising comedic scenes based on audience suggestions. Audience participation is encouraged, and the energy of the theatre troupe is astounding. You'll see and hear some of the best voice and character impersonators and hiphop rapartists as well as barber shop quartets singing crazy, funny songs that they made up in seconds.
