An absolute favourite of mine - a boutique gym and pool and spa/ steam room. Delightful temperature of the pool - sadly the pool is a little short for lap swimming but it's still lovely. Lovely to have a coffee in elegant lavender courtyard afterwards. A touch of old World Charm
The Club house could definitely do with a makeover, particularly the spa. The bottom and walls of the spa are in poor condition. The club house itself needs a revamp, the walls are old, there is a lot of rust and aging. The pool was lovely, the gym was welcoming and well maintained.
PROS: - This place is a decent price for membership (~$25 a week) and the staff are very nice and friendly - It's quiet most of the time, except school holidays when the hotel is extra busy (I presume) so no dealing with gym muppets - towels provided, and plenty of them - free fruit (sometimes) - The pool is a nice bright space in the daytime - plenty of parking (usually) CONS: - The place is focused on hotel guests and as a member, they aren't too fussed about you (took me about 3 goes to get a week trial pass) - The place ... read more
