The food was absolutely amazing and the staff very helpful and pleasant. Best ploughman's platter.
Super spot opposite the station, rooms are clean and comfortable with ensuite amenities. Breakfast was super also. There doesn't seem to be any noise come through from the bar in my experience. Would recommend for short stay
Since the change of ownership about a year ago, The Howey has transformed dramatically. The owner (Dino) and management have spent so much time, money and effort transforming this place from ‘just a pub’ to a real community asset. The management in particular (Bruce, Lindsay) give the place such a positive, welcoming family feel. Food is fairly priced, ample portions and delicious.
