My 87-year-old father has been a resident for about a year. The staff is very friendly and caring, and the facility is well kept and managed. I feel very comfortable that he is in a safe place that affords him freedom to come and go as he pleases.
This place is amazing, the staff, residents and atmosphere is great and I’m blessed to have been given the chance to experience a well managed business. The moment you walk into The Brook of Portland, someone is willing to help you even if they’re flooded in things to do. Everyone is friendly and welcomes anyone with open arms. I’ve worked for The Brook for the last 4 months and I couldn’t be more grateful for the bonds I’ve built with my residents, coworkers & management. Jennifer, the building manager, has always accommodated to the employees real-life emergencies as best as possible, even working the office all day to turn around and work the floor on our second or midnight shift if a coworker has a call out. They’ve been making my girlfriend work absolutely ridiculous hours. The company promised her no weekends. She has to work weekends and holidays. This is a tremendous toll on our family. The company has been terrible at retaining employees, losing people left and right. I’ve heard that the manager is an alcoholic and frequently comes in with hangovers.
