We visited the Boathouse at Patonga after a lovely 12km hike. We ordered some great food, there was a hair in mine, but they replaced it promptly with great apologies. The aperol spritz were 10/10. However, beware of the crazy kookaburra that flies above. I went to the bathroom and came to back to a crowd of laughing individuals and a traumatised mother! We visit Patonga often; it’s our happy place. Love to sit at the bar outside and watch the afternoon fade into night, while trying to win the challenge of the kookaburra stealing your chips. I’m disappointed this weekend though. We came for coffee this morning; it was just over $12 for a cappuccino and a short black. We were told there is a surcharge of 10% on the weekend “so we can get through winter.” I responded with: “Yes, we’d all like to get through winter!” Anyway, like moths to the flame we came back for Happy Hour. ... read more
