Just took another class at the Birds and the Beads with Joanne earlier today – even though I have done wire work before, Joanne was a great teacher, very patient with someone as rusty as me. She made sure that all of us were comfortable with the techniques and helped us pick out any material we needed. The owner Pete could not be nicer. His product is varied—tools, how-to books, findings, etc. and of course a beautiful array of beads, cabochons, chains, etc. that are all very reasonable. Recently I have been taking classes with Joanne at the facility (upstairs). So far I have participated in several beading workshops—beaded embroidery, wire wrapping, making beads with smaller beads and bead weaving. Great bead shop. I took a class yesterday on how to make a beaded bead with Joanne. What a wonderful and passionate instructor. I went home with a few beaded beads and a pair of earrings made out of this bead weaving technique. Joanne provided excellent instructions, showed us step by step on how to make the beads. I never felt rushed. The shop had all the necessary materials in case you forgot to bring along the materials.
