Very happy with day care – Our dog has been going to the Big Backyard twice a week for about 18 months and we couldn't be happier with the care and service. Our 4 year old dog comes home exhausted every time and is always so excited to go play for the day. At our previous day care, he had to make several trips to the vet after altercations with other dogs but that has never happened at the Big Backyard. The dogs are well-behaved but also have so much time to play with others. They don't have webcams, but I don't find that to... read more

The Big Backyard is World Class – We've trusted the owners and staff at The Big Backyard to look after our dog for more than 10 years. As we have no children, our dog is pretty much like our son, and we have 100% confidence in the care he receives when he's at The Big Backyard. Based on the excitement he's shown on daycare days all of these years, we know that he has a fantastic time while he's there. And when he comes home, he's exhausted, which is great for us. We simply can't imagine trusting anyone else to look after our... read more

no customer service – I had heard that the Big Backyard was a good place for doggie daycare. When I mentioned to the owner (a.m.) that my dog was somewhat hesitant to go in, he said it was because of my energy... I know my dog and that isn't it and since when is it the owner's energy that is the automatic reason for a normally outgoing and social dog to resist entering a daycare? On another visit I mentioned that my dog was itching excessively and seemed to have gotten fleas and was told that she picked them up somewhere els... read more

I'd shop around before settling for less – The dogs get little to no playtime, staff members are rude and more concerned about cleaning. one of my friends that worked there said one of the staff actually abuse the dogs and they use too many chemicals around the dogs. There's a reason they don't have webcams. Because NO parent would want their dogs exposed to all those chemicals (that are toxic and even the fumes can make your dog sick and burn their pads) Last time I checked people bring their dogs to daycare to play and bur... read more

Great Day Care experience for me and my Dogs! – I have had some experience with the big back yard through my girlfriend and now wife since her dogs have attended Day Care there since they were puppies. They are very accommodating and take great care of our dogs. Recently I got a new little puppy and we had to wait to take him until he got old enough. I have never seen him so tired as when I picked him up. He was so excited to go that he ran right in the first time and every time since. The staff and owners are great and have... read more

Sleepy Calm Dogs Welcome – After happily bringing our two labs to The Big Backyard for 3-4 months my lady and I were completely blindsided when the often impolite and rude morning manager informed us that our dogs were no longer welcome to the daycare on Saturdays. There is only one employee working on Saturday and he suddenly couldn't handle our two dogs. Furthermore, he was threatening to quit. We admit that our dogs are a handful. They are young, playful and full of energy, hence, the reason we take them to daycare to beg... read more

One of the oldest and most experienced – I like the big backyard. It's located so centrally and easy to find. They have been around a long time and are very experienced with handling dogs. They also now offer boarding which I like to take advantage of from time to time. The owners are really nice people and they operate a tight ship. When my dog goes there, he always comes home tired, therefore I know he is playing and having a great time.

No playtime? – This place is a waste of money. I spoke with one of the employees whom said that they are told NOT to play with the dogs in fear of rowdying them up, they take all toys away after 3pm. I worked at several doggy daycares in my youth and have never seen such a hands off place. Most of the time I visited the dogs were all just sitting/sleeping waiting to go home. My dog got a bath(which I paid extra for) and I couldnt tell they had even shampooed him, his fur was still dirty and the dead hair was still all over h... read more

Not a good choice – This daycare has well over 70 dogs a day with minimal staffing. I find it curious that they have no webcams for us to see what is really going on. Rows and rows of crates fill the walls and I wonder if the dogs get exercised at all. There are no toys, no pools and really nothing for the dogs to do. And unfortunately no cameras for us to watch. I would not leave my dog at a place that doesn't have webcams. I need to know that they are being well taken care of and that they aren't slammed into a room with m... read more
