Second visit: these guys are fantastic ... AGAIN, I walked in on 'em "cold" and - AGAIN - they fixed me up for a very fair and reasonable price and I was outta there in 10 minutes. (Not only that - but they were helping other customers on-the-fly, too! Great service.) First visit: These guys are great. I was out riding, my bike had an issue, they fixed it in minutes, more than great price, and I took their suggested, scenic bike route home. I'll be back for tires at some point.
I can't put into words how wonderful of an experience it is when I go to The Bicycle Place. When I need to get the bikes yearly tune up done or serviced at times; it's superb work. The customer service is professional and friendly which always makes coming back a happy experience. I walked into The Bicycle Place yesterday for a bottle of bike wash and walked out with a Maryland Flag Bicycle Place jersey as well. The conversation I have while in the shop is always good too.
This is trivial but it needs to be said as it illustrates the lack of customer service. I try to support local bike shops when I can, but when something this simple fails, I just can't go out of my way to try and help independent shops. I called in advance to confirm they had a specific size inner tube, since what I needed isn't a common size. They immediately responded on the phone that they have it.
