Unfriendly and not helpful. They made me feel unwelcome in their store.
Overpriced and very unfriendly. Common merchandise. – This store when it opened was a pleasant experience. Now, since the owner took over the other bead shop in Overland Park, the staff is unfriendly and the merchandise commonplace and overpriced. I refuse to give my business to someone who is plainly taking advantage of the fact the her shops are two of three in the middle of Johnson County. Not Helpful! – I did not enjoy The Bead Shop. I am not a jewelry maker myself. And apparently Beginners are not welcome! I went there today to make a simple beaded necklace. Unhappy – I have a specific bracelet I'm trying to re-create for a friend. I'd heard about this store from a friend and decided to check it out and see if it had exactly what I was looking for. My first impression when I walked in was that the selection wasn't much bigger than what I'd seen at the chain hobby stores. I also couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Disappointing – I recently started creating jewelry from exotic woods and needed some gold bails for pendants.. Well, I stopped by this shop and they had a little package of 4.. about a dollar a piece... OK... I bought them... after getting home I find they are too small for my needs. So I thought....OK...Maybe they have something else that will do..... After I get there I find out they do NOT refund OR exchange!!! Now I could understand if I was buying underwear......but I'm not! Gem in Kansas City – I just recently started beading. Took a class at The Bead Shop and I was hooked. Have gone to every bead shop in the metro area and this is by far my fave! The service is really good. They help you find just the right beads and they have it all. The gemstones are absolutely gorgeous and they have lots of beautiful glass beads.
