I am probably the most recent victim of this company’s predatory tactics and after reading these other reviews I’m absolutely furious, and saddened. I would urge anyone who has been taken advantage of by these people to follow my example and file a complaint with both the BBB and the Missouri Attorney General as well as the Missouri Bar. I spoke with a bankruptcy attorney and apparently Barton is well know in legal circles for their unscrupulous business practices. Been in business for 30 yrs. Have had many employees in that 30 yrs that have had THEIR wages garnished. No problems. I have never had to hire an attorney to protect MY business. Barton Laws aggressive and slightly dubious methods have forced my business to retain representation to protect OUR interests and we don't even own the money...
Took me to court for a 1800 medical bill, then told me I could pay 60 a month. They told me they would reach out to me with details how to pay. I didn’t hear from them for 3 months until they served my old employer garnishment papers. Keep in mind this is for a hospital bill that tried to diagnose me with pneumonia when I had a blood clot in my lung. This place is trash and has zero communication skills. Good luck to ya!
