Rooms are basically like dorm rooms if your dorm room smells like smoke and doesn’t have hot water.
We stopped in for a meal before a tour we did in Whittier. Halibut fish and chips was pretty good. It came out quick but we were never given any utensils so we had to eat with our hands. Women’s bathroom had no soap or paper towels.
Nice simple hotel for a visit to Whittier
Stopped into Whittier for a day/night. This is an old military barracks but was comfortable and felt safe to stay. Didn’t get any creepy feels as I saw on some other reviews. Room was clean. Staff was helpful. I would say having better directions to the office would be helpful. But no real complaints here.
The place is very old but kept in good condition. Check-in is fairly easy. Key-pad entry makes it easy (not to worry about losing a key or key-card). The room we stayed was huge (essentially an apartment size) with separate kitchen, big screen tv in living room, sofa, dining table, fridge, microwave, stove etc. Bedroom had its own tv with two twin beds.
