We first discovered Thal Studios in about 2019. We fell in love with the incredible art we saw, and the kind accommodation of showing us around. Laurie and Dan are so incredibly skilled in their craft. We purchased a lovely piece for our dining room. It was the first "collectible" we had ever purchased. We've enjoyed it all these years. Our group supports our local art museum in California and, as art enthusiasts, each year we select interesting locations to visit artists in their studios, galleries, and museums. This year we traveled to Jackson Hole. Laurie Thal was one of the artists we sought out and her studio eventually became one we were fortunate enough to visit. My visit to Laurie Thal's glass studio was my first but I hope not my last! Her rural, treed and shady setting is an oasis for creativity. I saw finished pieces and was given a tour pf the studio by Laurie who lead me step by step through the process. Glass blowing is an ancient craft that one does not take up lightly! The creative dance, blowing, turning and twisting molten glass on the end of a steel rod demands strength, timing and a mature grasp of the medium.
