Teen challenge is statistically the most successful addiction treatment facility out there. It is a Christian program. It does treat addiction the way the Bible address is it, as idolitry. Their success rate speaks for itself.

The program as far as the students studying the word is good. But for anyone who works there they want to control your every move. A very micromanage organization. Very cultists atmosphere. There isn't any consistency nor are they stable. The Director will say one thing and either forget he said it or lie about it. Very argumentative and humiliating experience

I don’t know if this place has changed since I was there 20 years ago, but many of the practices would be considered child abuse by today’s standards. When I was there, the girls were in Tijeras, NM. Examples below: Cleaning out dumpsters: as a punishment, I was made to climb inside dumpsters in Tijeras, NM to clean them out. The smell was so awful I would shove chapstick in my nose to avoid losing it- which happened anyway. I got to the point where I would stomp on live mice to avoid them crawling on me.
