The staff are kind people, who are looking out for corprate's best intentions. NOT yours. When paying a mortgage in full, they are not automatically applying the 15% of the principal penalty free for a calendar year unless you request it or make a separate payment in advance. They made around $2 billion last year by scamming working people with counterintuitive fine print like this.
