Went in to get pre-approved for a mortgage. Spoke with Chris Nzekwu who seemed friendly at first. I told him I didnt want mortgage insurance multiple times and he scoffed at me like I was an idiot for not getting it, sorry you didnt get your commission... When I asked questions about rates and terms he again continued to snicker and mock when I was thinking of choosing a variable rate. I had a terrible experience at this location with the manager, the bank should be open until 6:00 pm and he closes the door about 5 minutes before 6:00 and refuses to open the door until after 6:00 pm while escorting out customers when I confronted him he refused to accommodate and shut the door in my face. Terrible manager.
TD Bank is generally good, but this branch in particular is very poor. It took more than six weeks to process my request to increase my credit limit, and I didn’t receive any response until I went to the branch in person twice to ask for an update; in the end, they told me the request had been rejected. I have no problem with my application being rejected, but they should at least have informed me of the decision by letter or email without me having to visit the branch twice. It sucks that TD no longer recognizes certified cheques but the attempted gaslighting was a bit much. She tried to tell me that actually all the other banks were secretly adding holds the whole time and that TD was always like this. Like I haven't been depositing certified cheques at all the banks in the area many times a week for the past decade as a clerk. It's weird to try to gaslight me about it.
