Absolutely unacceptable experience with TD today. My debit card chip suddenly stopped working, so after a long day at work I went into the branch to get a replacement. Instead of helping me, the teller informed me that all my accounts are frozen due to suspected fraud and demanded THREE pieces of ID—including my passport—before they would even discuss the issue. I had an appointment scheduled for October 18 at 2 PM. I work Saturdays, but I made arrangements and got permission from work just to be there on time. When I arrived, I was told there was no record of my appointment in their system. No explanation, no accountability – just a complete waste of my time. Totally unprofessional. I went in to the Kanata. Centrum bank branch/location today 16th Oct at around 5 pm looking to purchase precious metal coin for Diwali. The teller was friendly but she had to ask the 2 ladies at the back about the Diwali coins. These 2 (white) ladies in their business suit started talking rudely to me and shrugging shoulders and said they never carried these special coins and that I should have ordered online. I am deeply offended by one of your tellers. He did not know what a legal guardian is. I have been my mother's legal guardian for over 5 years now as she is completely incapable of handling her affairs. Not only did your teller lock me out of my mother's 2 accounts but insulted me by insinuating that I am some sort of criminal that would steal her money. Banked at this branch for years and witnessed terrible deterioration of its client services. Several advisors I recently dealt with were incompetent and ignorant, couldn't even get a new account set up in the system properly. The staff at the counter are usually friendly but the floor manager (a young lady) is arrogant and lack of sound judgement /common sense.
