Rude to HR/payroll departments when trying to collect money

Very unprofessional. I was advised to speak with someone in particular at this establishment. Upon my first call no verification process was initiated. Upon my second call a verification process was initiated. Rather confused as to why the second time but not the first time I would have to go through this process.
