Errors made on back to back tax returns resulted in $10,000 in penalties and interest plus the taxes that were owed, totaling approximately $23,000. We were told for almost 5 years that we did not owe this money, then someone found the mistake and confirmed that in fact the money was owed. Communication was terrible. I left countless messages before anyone responded. The only assistance they provided was a letter asking for penalty abatement, for which less than $1300 was granted. Avoid!!
