I visited the Tax Collector’s Office of Indian River County West Branch on February 17, 2026 to transfer my out-of-state license and obtain my Florida CDL, since my current state would not extend my license due to my extended stay in Florida. Before going in, I carefully reviewed the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website and brought the required proof of address documents listed for CDL and CLP applicants, including a recent cell phone bill and a recent bank statement within 60 days. Rachel is the most pleasant & helpful person that I have ever had the pleasure of encountering at any DMV office in any state.
This location is completely mismanaged. I had a confirmed 3 PM appointment for my CDL license and took time off work to be there, only to find out they never scheduled me properly. Their mistake forced me to miss an additional day of work, which is unacceptable. The reception staff was also rude and dismissive, showing zero professionalism or regard for customers’ time. This was a highly frustrating and costly experience. I do not recommend this location under any circumstances—save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere
