It was such an honor to work with chef Maya and her son, chef Chris. The class I and my husband attended was the Valentine’s Day couples class. We thought the chefs did a great job with clear instructions, exemplary modeling, and delivering expectations. The food turned out amazing and the class taught us useful cooking skills. My husband and I attended the Valentine's Day couple's cooking class with our friends. Not only cooking/eating fantastic food was fun but also the presentation about Peru and socializing with other guests made it feel like we were at an intimate private party. With personalities of Chef Maya and Chef Chris, mother & son team, and the location of residential home converted into kitchen studio with Peruvian décor, this is nothing like other cooking class we have done before. I've tried 3 classes and all have been so delicious! Maya knows how to teach even the most challenged cooks ways to make Peruvian dishes easily and deliciously. At our Girl's Night Out class we made stuffed avocados, grilled steak with vegetables, and flan. So good! She also knows how to make dishes for vegetarian eaters. Try it and you'll like it!
I've taken two classes now, and had a lovely experience both times! Chef Maya is both a charming hostess and a skilled guide into the world of Peruvian cooking. The school's decor is gorgeous and provides a lovely back drop to the classes. All the dishes I've made have been delicious. We'll be back again!
