This is a great pool hall. It has a great atmosphere and alot of different and interesting people to meet. The only thing that I dont like is the snotty people that snap their fingers at the bartenders expecting service like their at some high bar like the yardhouse or something... GET OVER YOURSELF!!!! YOUR MESSIN UP EVERYONE ELSE NITE!!! LOL Just sayin..

Too dicey!! – Dangerous! A friend got jumped right outside the door and beaten on. No security, nothing - not even a bar rag for a bleeding person. Low lifes.

Too bad I can't give fractions of stars... – What does the status quo have to do with a billiard hall? The answer should be 'nothing'. Unfortunately, Tarantula Billiards must be under new management, or something equally terrible. The music was the kind of fluff heard on late night radio; the awful kind of music that Psyop uses to get badguys out of caves... mixed into something worse. And loud. the official rat hole of denver – the bartender is rude and unhappy to be there. she'd rather you leave than stay and spend money. get ready for some cold stares and narcissistic condescension with every drink. the lights are kept real low to disguise how much they dont clean. the bathrooms have science projects growing on the walls. if you really want my 2 cents go to any of the real bars near by for drinks go to some place like fox and hound for pool

Coolest Atmosphere in Denver – My friends and I went to this bar and had one of the best girls nights ever... The staff was wonderful and very engaging. The Drinks were poured with care and the other customers were a blast. The only thing was they need work on the bathrooms. The ladies room only has two working stalls unless you want to pee without a door :) I would recommend this bar to anyone looking to have a relaxed night out. A++++++++

Terrible bar – Stay away!!! The service is terrible. Before you enter the bar there are people hitting you up for money and smokes. As you walk up the dark, wobbly stairs you are not greated. The bartenders are rude and unwelcoming. The regulars are just as bad if not worse. The main bartender needs charm school...she looks at you as if you are stupid and ignores you for as long as possible. Not to mention no attractive bartenders at all. Great Atmoshpere – This bar has the best pool tables I have ever seen. There is such a cool atmosphere, intersting people, and the food and drinks are excellent! This is the best place to go for a night out on the town because there is no pretention or attitude. Me and my party felt so welcome and were treated with outstanding service. I never write reviews but I thought this place deserved the time to give a thumbs WAY up. I have been back many times since. It's the BEST BAR IN DENVER!

Awful Service – I was scrared to even enter the bar. There were people right outside the door asking for money and cigarettes. The stairway leading up to the bar was poorly lit and I was afraid of missing a step. The bartenders are rude, the regular customers are very shady and almost protective of their "territory." Party Monsters – Tarantula/Black Widow are my favorite places to hang out at. Every night has its own draw and appeal. Wed's are tournament night; live DJ's every night who spin all the stuff we love to listen to. They have great pool tables and the bartenders are all great and not to mention attractive. Overall, Tarantula is a hot spot to hang out in. Black Widow has a lovely lounge atmosphere; where you can hang out with your friends while enjoying great music.
