I had the task of general maintenance for a violin that was donated to the MCC Thriftshop. Not knowing much about violins I dropped in at Tanviolins and Darrel was most helpful in giving me an appraisal of the instrument and some direction on what I might do with it. If I was a violinist, this is a shop that I would certainly patronize

I just came in with my violin, unsure what was wrong with it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and fixed my problem promptly. They did a great job of explaining the problem and gave some strategies to deal with the problem if it happened again. Definitely worth the drive.
Very good experience at Tan Violin Shop. He was very helpful, friendly and was able to help with my daughter's violin. Very much appreciated! We will definitely be back.
Fantastic bow repair! I cracked the tip of my cello bow. Fortunately when it fell off it was in my bow quiver. Darrell kindly reattached it with surgical precision. He then hand delivered it to me at orchestra—talk about going over and above. The Tan Violin Shop is obviously more than violins—it was open during the hours it said despite the cold and blizzard the night before, had friendly and professional service and the repair was done in a timely manner. Highly recommended!
