My daughter found her love of at Take the Lead. It helped her realize that horses are her one calm place and they can be a place of peace. The workers here are tremendous and I am so thankful for them and would recommend them 1000 times over.

My 12 year old son has been coming here for years. It is a bit of a drive, but he just loves it. The staff is great with him and having an OT running the lesson is a real game changer in really understanding his special needs.

My son was a client at TTL while in high school. Miss Chelsea worked with him in hippotherapy—occupational therapy with horses. Chelsea Whitaker and her team are wonderful; their compassion and insight help each client and rider want to do their best with the horses—the "other" therapists!—and the riders are changed as a result. My son's teachers were so pleased at how much he had improved in behaviors and adaptability as a result of hippotherapy. I highly recommend Taking the Lead for Occupational Therapy.

My son has been going to Taking the Lead for several years. He is autistic and treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Chelsea and her staff have been nothing but wonderful for my son. My son truly enjoys getting to ride on George each week and see his favorite people. He has become a more confident rider and strengthened his skills.

My son, who has autism and Tourette's Syndrome, benefited greatly from the program at Taking The Lead. The riding and instruction improved his focus, his physical health, and increased his communication. Having an Occupational Therapist with experience in training service animals is invaluable to this therapy. We experienced a thoughtful, well-run program. They were responsive to any challenges that arose and were open to feedback. If you or your loved one has a disability--physical, intellectual, or developmental--and are i... read more
