They just charged you quote fee without checking anything. quoted a extremely high rate $55. Well how do I know? My stickers on my screws are still there and there are no signs or marks on screws of opening and checking. I talked with the owner and he said this issue he researched so he could be sure it was a mainboard issue ($480 replacement), no need to open and check. 100% recommending this professional and ethical shop. Well, my brand new lense is just broken since I dropped it, i called the camera shop where I bought the camera and the lense, they recommended this repair shop. The repair shop would never overcharge you, just giving honest opinion, saying what they can do and cannot, meaning they don't take a job if it's better to just buy brand new one. You will feel they are genuine for their job. No need to worry, if your camera and lense have a problem, visit this shop.
