I initially chose SwiftLegal because they are a local business with over 40 years of experience. Unfortunately, as a non-legal professional using their standard service, the process was highly anxiety-inducing and ultimately unsuccessful. YMMV, but here is a breakdown of my experience: 1. I have been a lawyer in San Francisco for just over 30 years. I have been working with Swift Legal in Redwood City for a few years now. They just did a terrific job for me on a rush assignment dealing with a particularly difficult Sheriff's Office. They moved heaven and earth to get something done in one day. This is the second time they basically dropped everything and got something done for me that was pretty difficult. They have also finessed a few things in the San Mateo Sheriff's Office. Highly incapable of providing the service they advertise. I submitted a subpoena for rush/24-hour process service, yet after more than a week and a half—and multiple follow-ups—they never even attempted to serve it. Each time I called, I spoke with different employees who all told me it was “in process” and that I would receive an update. The only time I ever got updates was when I chased them down myself.
