Update: They blame the state government. Trades were Treated like criminals during the second lockdown, we are now treated like criminals for working our backs off. Don't bother doing emergency work if working in the shire. They will give an insane fine for parking in area ( that does not say no parking) $320.00 it is better for me not to work. Country needs trades, yet councils fine us for doing work!!!

Sutherland Council a great example of incompetence. When running at a reactive Maintenance schedule Budget should not be in surplus that's money not spent proactive building maintenance to all Assets require so behind the times only just installing recycle bins to half of the Shire meanwhile Wollongong Council deals with Food Waste for five other councils including their own and Sutherland only just think about implementing in 2025. Lucas Heights hit it 2050 Phil limit in Covid due to the lack of recycling and other programs... read more

Got an excessive fine of $300 for parking on a yellow line (clearance zone) in a private residential street. I thought it was fair game because there was no "No Stopping" signs and was not aware of the yellow line rule which is unique to Sutherland Shire Council to my knowledge. Not only is the road rule vague because there are no signs, a $300 punishments is over the top and should be reserved for far worse infringements. No stopping signs need to be added and if not then the fine should be between $100-180. Sutherland Shi... read more

PLEASE TAKE NOTE COUNCIL: Sutherland shire council needs to take a step towards a sustainable future and support the communities adoption by makings some Electric Vehicle chargers available to the public. The council chambers has 2 chargers for their EVs, however, they are not available to the public. There are no other chargers provided by the councils where as a number of other LGAs have already made the move. I would happily change my review should they decide to put some publicly accessible chargers around the shire.

Southerland Shire need to invest on ev chargers. I work in the western suburbs .they have plenty ev chargers free of charge . Blacktown has new 10 public chargers few month ago. Rooty Hills station has 8 ev charger by Blacktown council . They are so future focus. I can't fathom why council like southerland Shire is so behind . Illawong/ Menai has no public chargers so far . I think Shire should go and learn from other council and get on with time . Check out the link below! https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/projects/current-... read more
