I was fortunate to have Susan as my first painting teacher. Now, years later, I still rely on the concepts and techniques she taught to start a painting and power through the difficult middle stages where a painting is neither one thing nor another. Any time I start to lose confidence in my initial vision, I recall her cheerful reassurance and positive problem solving approach. She's not only a great artist and teacher but a lovely human being as well.
