Fascinating national history, great tour guide!
Visited The Surratts House in October during the Govt shutdown. I used to live in the area and just find the whole Lincoln assassination appalling and fascinating. The house has so much history and worth seeing. Bought a book while I was there, American Brutus, which is an in-depth look at what happened and details about Booth. If you are nearby make time to go and learn. The people working there and in the gift shop are very knowledgeable. Make sure to ask about the wall the guns were hidden in while you are in the house.
We had a wonderful time visiting Surratt’s House, especially with the guided tour included. My kids absolutely loved it! Our guide, Catherine, was exceptional—her deep knowledge and engaging storytelling brought history to life. She shared so many fascinating details that made the tour both fun and interactive for all ages. Highly recommend for families and history lovers alike!
