I wasn’t even in the office for 3 minutes before I was asked for my Social Security number. I provided it assuming she was just checking to see if I had been there before or pulling up basic information. A few seconds later, I asked if she was running my credit and was told yes, that she “has to qualify” — without ever informing me beforehand that a credit check would be run.
