I used to think Sunrise was an amazing company to work for — but not after my experience at the Beaconsfield location. Here, even one small slip can outweigh years of loyalty, job dedication and doing everything by the book. The real problem isn’t Sunrise as a whole, it’s the leadership at this community. The executive director does not reflect the values Sunrise promotes, and it shows. If you want the true Sunrise experience, look elsewhere — because Beaconsfield is the exception, not the rule.

My mom has passed now for a few years and I’ve had time to reflect and think about this. This is a place that throws up facades to make you think that things are being done correctly… if I had to do it over again, I would’ve put my mother OK in a public facility and I’m pretty sure that would’ve been better as I stood guard. But this place is always ready to say they’re doing things better than everybody else but it’s a façade. We had our parents at the Sunrise of Beaconsfield for over 7 years. Our experience is mixed, between the care provided, and the management of the business. The caregivers are kind and patient and do their best, as are some of the management staff. But make no mistake, Sunrise is a FOR PROFIT business. The priority between *profit* and *care* is precariously balanced and we were often 'nickeled and dimed' over superfluous issues, in addition to regular arbitrary cost increases.
