!! SNEAKY BILLING PRACTICES !! Check other reviewers as well (Megan McBride-DeShazo) below. To be clear, the doctors are great. I was happy to be there, great atmosphere etc. Their billing practices, not so great. READ THE FINE PRINT. I thought I did... but I didn't catch the part where they automatically draft your card on file with no invoice to you, and no option to talk with them first. This business practice (automatic billing with no invoice) is simply not a good thing for the patient. It's definitely a good thing for ... read more

Made an appointment, was told to only bring insurance card a co-pay. The day of the appointment myself and daughter walked in and started to fill out the necessary paperwork when I was abruptly told by the receptionist that we needed co-pay, insurance card and either a major credit card or bank card before my daughter could be seen. I explained how I was only told to bring in insurance and co-pay when once again I was abruptly interrupted and told she would not be seen without a credit card on file. I then tried to explain t... read more

They did nothing to fix my problem, and had no sympathy towards my situation. The workers are extremely rude, and I attempted to contact the office manager several times with no success. I waited over an hour for my follow up appointment, just for the doctor to tell me there was nothing he can do. Going to this office has done nothing but wasted my time, energy, and money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NO ANYONE!!!

Dr Matthys is actually a good dermatologist. He treated my Rosacea and another skin condition well. The problem is that the overall experience at Sunflower is rude and unprofessional. First, be prepared to wait 1 1/2 to 2 hours past your appointment time. Secondly be prepared to deal with the Dr "prescribing" you outrageously priced skin care items that he sells at his spa. Third, expect to be treated rudely by Alicia and the unprofessional staff. Lastly, they will make you give them authorization to bill your credit card fo... read more

I thought Sunflower Dermatology was awful - definitely more of a day spa than a professional clinical practice. I found the staff to be unfriendly, I had to wait 1.5 hrs. (after my apt. time) before I was seen, they made me go on a tour of the facility since I was a first time guest (even though I expressly said I didn't want to; I think they were just trying to distract me from the fact that I had waited for over an hour), and when the "Dr." prescribed me things, he actually just listed all the products that I should buy (a... read more

Dr. Menser, the female physician at sunflower dermatology, is by far the most wonderful physician I have ever encountered. She was incredibly attentive, she was very good at explaining things, and she did such a good job of following up with me. She met my husband a day after my appointment and actually remembered me as a patient. When I called to check on test results she asked to speak to me personally and she spent a good deal of time explaining the results and telling me how to care for my wounds. The care I received fro... read more

One of the best! – Dr. Matthys has been my dermatologist for five years now and discovered my first melanoma. He and his staff were most professional, but also caring and compassionate during this difficult time for me. I see them regularly and feel more like family than a patient. Over the years I've had many friends ask me who my dermatologist is and I send them straight to Dr. Matthys at Sunflower. I always hear back that my friends have the same professional, caring experience I've come to expect from them.

Beautiful Practice! – Sunflower Dermatology and day spa have a beautiful facility. Dr. Matthys is very personable and makes me comfortable in his office. I love that Jenny applies make up after my skin exam, so I can go back to work with no worries. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family,.

Top Notch Dermatologist! – I've gone to Dr. Matthys for several years now. Not only is he great with patients (and kids), he knows his stuff. And then some. He's effective, efficient and has suggested a lot of things in the way of treatments that I hadn't considered. All have been extremely beneficial to the care of my skin. I like the fact that he's congenial, affable and doesn't try to sell you the farm. His staff is always ready and willing to help. And the best part? If I'm ever in a complete bind, he makes a concerted e... read more
