After booking "Laverne" I got a message letting me know that the airbagshad been singedin a grease fire, that they might not be working, and needed to be replaced. They asked me to sign an airbag waiver, which I was not comfy with. I was friendly and flexible, agreeingto switch to "Shirley" even though I was disappointed. Looking back, it's a red flag to me that they're still renting out a vehicle whose airbags are compromised and asking people to sign waivers outside the platform. They listed check intime as 11 AM. This is our second Merrie Monarch traveling in Ms. Betty the amazing Sun and Salt Van. Bri and Conner are the kindest folks you could ever do business with. The van is delightful. So easy to drive - like my truck. We are able to cruise around and enjoy everything including some dinner and a nap where ever life takes you! Enjoy the island this way, you'll never want to do it any other way again.
Aloha, Sun and Salt Campervans was one of the best decisions my partner and I made when booking are trip to Big Island, Hawaii. We booked Shirley for 2 weeks and made are way around the island problem free. The price per day was very reasonable and most of the campsites throughout the island were beautiful. We've used Sun + Salt to see the big island twice now and I cannot recommend them enough. We've stayed in both Bertha and Betty, staying at hipcamps and county campgrounds around the whole island. Connor and Bri are great hosts, check in and out is easy. If you don't mind driving it's the absolute best way to see the island!
We had a wonderful time renting the Big Island Bertha camper van and driving around the big island for 12 days. It took us everywhere we needed to go including the national park and the remote areas in the area around Hilo. It was so nice to be able to stay in the camper van add interesting locations and hipcamps and not have to drive to an airbnb.
